The Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market is set deep in a narrow Black Forest valley, beneath the iconic railway viaduct where the Ravenna stream leaves the gorge and the winter light settles between steep forested slopes.

In this unique setting, two guided winter experiences from Hinterzarten lead you into the valley – each with its own rhythm and atmosphere.

Both end at the same destination.

But the journey could not be more different.

The torchlight hike is a guided winter walk from Hinterzarten through the Löffeltal valley to the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market.

It follows a small mountain stream along forest paths and passes traditional Black Forest water-powered sawmills.

As daylight fades, torchlight transforms the forest into a warm, atmospheric winter landscape.

The winter hike is a guided daytime experience through the Ravenna Gorge itself.

The route follows the Ravenna stream through a narrow, dramatic valley with steep rock formations and untouched winter nature.

Unlike the torchlight hike, this experience focuses entirely on the natural landscape in daylight.

Both hiking routes end directly at the entrance area of the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market.

The market is located beneath the famous railway viaduct, where the Ravenna stream exits the gorge and the valley opens into a dramatic winter setting.

From here, guests enter the market independently and explore at their own pace.

The entry ticket to the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market is included in your hiking experience.

All tickets are booked online via our booking system on this page and issued as digital tickets. Your entrance wristband for the Christmas market will be handed out at check-in on the day of the experience.

Please note:

• Shuttle transport to the Christmas market is not included in this hiking experience

• A complimentary return shuttle may be available after your visit, depending on visitor volume and operational conditions. Waiting times may occur during peak hours!

• Alternatively, guests may return independently: (A) - by walking the direct uphill route to Hinterzarten (approx. 40 minutes) or (B) - by taxi, if preferred
